That sux! You can tell by the history of the account that he set this up to steal.  I also noticed that the first transfer he stole was sent to Poloniex, but then he began using  Shapeshift to cash out. I wonder what type of info he has on his own Poloniex account?

I suppose technically it’s not  “stealing,” but essentially, moreless. at first glance, I thought he might be honest as saw some transfers out, thought he was transferring back to others who did the same - but on second look, see he was just cashing out what was mistakenly transferred to him.

sucks that no measures can be taken to address such. but hey, people want an irrefutable, irreversible blockchain… well, they better doublecheck their auto-correct ain’t on and fucking with their profit transfers… :-/

looking at the account history, it seems like you aren't the first person to make this mistake.  It looks like this user cashes out the accidentally sent funds.  Its very likely that he chose the name to exploit the very mistake you made.

Edit -- realized you noticed this too in comments after i posted.

Incidentally, im not 100% sure, but i think there is a way in html to disable autocorrect in some text fields (for example, log in credentials, etc)  it should definitely be done in the send-to field of the wallet.

Wow, sorry to hear this.  I am new to this site, the behavior seems insane, especially for such a small group.

I transferred in a bit of my bitcoin, but..  I am a believer in being selective in one's bed fellows.  Not sure this is a community I would feel proud to be a part of.

could be smart to have some reservations, while still open enough to testing the waters…

I got in the first month, did quite well profit-wise, and got pretty swept up in the hype. Inevitably, the disillusionment kicked in when the hype wore off, price dropped, and saw some other sides to things without the rose-colored glasses. Haven’t been so active lately, so not sure what all developments have been underway since…

There are indeed some shady characters that may not be doing the community’s reputation all that well, though there are also some standup guys that have been putting alot of heart and soul into building it into something bigger than any of us. Can’t let a few bad apples ruin it all, as there are douchebags on any social media site and that’s no reason to dissociate from the larger entity - though time will tell what becomes of it all…
