The 200 Moving Average Can Also Serve As The Grim Reaper

Last month, I talked about how the 200 moving average saved the equity markets once again,

>Discretionary and system traders, market analysts and those pestering algos also use moving averages for support and resistance. For example, in February and April of this year the moving avg. served as support for the Market.

>But what made price stop here, was the Market oversold. It was, but it was actually something else.  Prices stopped and consolidated around the 200 MA, before moving higher yesterday.

However, the 200 MA can also serve as resistance, AKA the Grim Reaper.   Grim Reaper, the black-cloaked, scythe-wielding personification of death.  He comes for every person, hourglass in hand, waiting for the last grain of sand to fall. When it does, he collects the soul with a well-practiced cut of his razor-sharp blade.

The longer price stays below the 200 MA, the higher the probability that price will continue to decline, eventually taking souls of the remaining traders with long positions.

The chart suggest that price wants to test the February lows as that level is the last line of defense before Grim Reaper sweeps through the homes of long positions.

If price declines to the lows of February and consolidates, one must anticipate the DEATH CROSS and the Grim Reaper blowing up accounts and taking souls at that time.

This is just the beginning of the shift for the US economy and as we saw a decade ago with the 2008 crisis China's economy went into decline several months before the US. That is exactly what we are seeing right now as the capitalists desperately struggle to keep up with their house of cards.

Great analogy and the only thing that could break this trend upward is more manipulation and government intervention...  However, the tools are becoming less viable and will be less effective.

Great analysis as always Rolland. If things go south, I can't imagine the people putting up with another bail out...nor do we have the money. We're flirting with disaster. I feel it's needed to finally end the corruption that's been taking place ever since we left the gold standard.

Thanks @workin2005.  You bring up an interesting comment, as I think there has to be another QE because rates are still too low to give the government enough ammunition.  However, I agree with you, we need to reset things at some point and get on with it.
