I agree with you flexifriday that a fixation on money will corrupt the platform. On the other hand I am not too worried about it because I actually think the market mechanism will sort this kind of behavior out. People love to read the words of authors who are genuinely passionate about what they are presenting. That passion does shine through - it is inevitable. The people who publishes with money as their only motivation cannot compete with the authentic authors and the market will reward them accordingly. So yes, your message is true, but I think Steemit community will sort out the trolls automatically. Does it make sense? ronni

Thanks for chiming in, Ronni. Yes it does make sense. And I must remember what I feel looks like "passion" is different than what another does, and that we're all different. So I must put my judgements aside, as that is part of my bias. I'd like to believe that people on Steemit are smarter and more aware than the average Facebooker, so yes, I'd like to have faith too. Thanks!

Great content of course is subjective. But personally, great posts are those that are informative, factual, honest, and entertaining. What I like about steemit so far is that the community as curators generally has consensus of what great content is. At least, for me, the trending post in every category I visited are great and are of quality. :)

You clearly expressed my thoughts on this @ronni I think the money part of steemit is a good thing. I like what you said here: > The people who publishes with money as their only motivation cannot compete with the authentic authors and the market will reward them accordingly. That makes a lot of sense to me and I hope that it will prove true here on steemit.

@ronni I agree. I believe the platform and the steemit community will eventually fix this and reward great content.

I hope so too! What makes "great content" in your opinion? Because if upvoting certain posts (which then make them more popular) is beneficial for the "upvoter", then is that content valuable? Or is there still a motivation to upvote content regardless if you even like it? I'm still new at learning the ins and outs of all this, but what do you think?
