When I got admitted into college, I had a little delay due to my health, I was sick and admitted into the hospital for three weeks till I recovered. My mates have gone far in their studies so I find it hard to meet up with them. Since I resumed late, I missed the orientation and registration so I couldn't locate some important places in the school, even my lecture halls. My first day to resume into my hostel was a memorable one. While I was busy finding my room with my heavy bags, I found a young lady of my age who offered to help me with my loads, unknowingly, she happens to be my roommate, that was how our friendship began. 

Flora would take me everywhere I need to go to make sure I complete my registration and she helped me when I need to go somewhere, I was new and I know nowhere, I'm actually a shy person, I wouldn't ask for direction from someone I would rather follow a map or something.  Flora and I became close friends and did everything together, we go out together and come back together. Our third roommate, Becky, hardly stays in the room and when she does she stays quiet till she sleeps off. Becky and Flora are in their second year, but something seems off between her and Flora, it's like they have known each other before, but when I ask her about it she told me nothing. I noticed that Becky is always alone and she has no friends.

In the middle of the semester, exams is fast approaching and every one seems serious in the college, there was less party and other social activities, everyone was seen in the library and other public places for reading. I want Flora and I to do the same but she prefers to read in the room, she has the habit of avoiding the crowd and she does not attend social gathering. So, I read in the library alone and sometimes, I had class discussion with my class mates.

As I was returning from the library one night, I noticed a lot of people gathered in front of our room, I increased my pace to find out what's going on, then I discovered Flora and Becky were having a big fight and the whole room became a mess. I managed to calm them down and everyone left leaving the three of us alone. After so much persuasion, I went to bed angrily when both of them refused to talk.

In the next morning, I persuaded Flora to tell me what's wrong but she refused, I feel like there's a big secret she is yet to tell me, until I got angry with her and told her not to talk to me unless she tell me what's happening.

"Helen" she finally called my name after so much silence.

" Becky and I got involved with drugs in our first year in school" 

"What...... what did you say" I asked in shock.

"It's all my fault, she stammers I invited her for our class party, my boyfriend then got involved with drugs and we were all arrested in the process. Becky keeps blaming me for the incidence and unfortunately we were paired in the same room this year again.

After hearing Becky's story I was left with so much questions in my mind. Should I continue my friendship with Becky or should I try to bring those two together again? Becky was just under the influence of bad friends then and she learnt her lesson already. I finally made up my mind to create a bond between these two friends again. I know it won't be easy but I will make it my aim to do that. Whatever needs to be done will be after my first aim.
