Hello guys, 

This is my first post here. I hope I can produce something interesting for everyone here to read. 

I started my internship yesterday; it's compulsory for all level 300s in most schools in Ghana. Since I study computer science I wanted to go somewhere with young minds who are not just keen on taking but also impacting the individual.

I submitted my letter to an NGO by the name HOPin; It's a place where they help and train young entrepreneurs with new skills so that they will use the knowledge acquired to set themselves up. The main aim is to make sure that the knowledge acquired is used in the North here. I was called on Monday so I had to start immediately.

On the first day, we had an orientation and then the whole day was free. We close at 5 so we had to wait till 5 pm to go home.

Today was different. I reported as early as 8:40 am since the reporting time is at 9 am. When I got there, one it the interns was there already so I joined in. In about 10 minutes we were all present. One of the workers then asked us to help him in filling in some forms with some data. We gladly accepted as we wanted to do something and not just sit around.

Whilst we were on it, someone else asked us to come out and help him clean around since some delegates from UNICEF were on their way coming. I for one was excited cause I saw it as an opportunity to explore the workplace. 

We started by picking a few rubbers that were left lying around. After that, we went to one of the workshops. Here they explained that it's mainly used in dismantling electronic waste.

Since most, of the gadgets, are quite expensive to get they allow the public to come and access those tools from time to time. 

After cleaning that area we were done. We washed our hands and went inside to continue with the writing. By the time we finished, it was time for a lunch break. I was hungry so I bought maintain and beans( am sorry I couldn't get a picture for you guys; maybe some other time) 

After lunch, we prayed. After prayers, one of the workers there asked us to come out so that he could take us through a few things in ms word.

Well, I must confess, I never knew word could be used in doing a lot of things like making posters, banners and a whole lot of stuff. I always thought word was used in typing and formatting word documents. 

He thought us a lot and one of them was how to use word in preparation of your cv.
In the picture below you can see a sample of what I did with my partner after his lesson

After his lesson time was far spent, so we prayed and has nothing doing till 5. We close at 5 as I said earlier and then I made my way home.
