Maybe specify the action (nsfw inside)

@jedau requested an "action shot" of Aurelius.  It may have also been a pencil sketch request but I was doing so many scribbly pen coloured ones I kind of got carried away.  Oops :S

The nsfw one was actually the first one to jump into my gutter mind but after joking about it while trying to work out what kind of action shot Jed had in mind, I said I didn't think I was ready for another one yet, and turned my attention to the first one.

The basic idea was "how I met your mother" (so this scene would happen a bit before the block I'm currently working on), theme song is [Owl City: Bird with a Broken Wing](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLixA6VBtoU).

As is clearly evident, I haven't had a lot of experience with sketch colouring dark scenes.  I actually wanted to throw in the towel on this one as I was really struggling to get the focus where I wanted it (failed because Avians take up a lot of space because they just do).  Serves me right for thinking including Layla (I don't have a full name yet) would be an awesome idea.

Then I had the brilliant idea to just do the nsfw one because I need to start figuring out how that kind of stuff happens when there's wings involved anyway, as apparently a lot of the stuff in my head is only partially right.

I still can't do these with a straight face.

This is amazing Ryi!  I never thought you'd NSFW up, but I'm so glad you did!  I've honestly never wings in action... but I assume once folded people could lie on their backs?  Surely wings are super sturdy for humanoids.  I'd hate to pull a wing muscle...

Thanks! ^_^ I've done nsfw before, and not once with a straight face XD And usually while I'm doing it I'm like AAAHHH SERIOUSLY WHO WOULD WANT TO LOOK AT THIS among with the usual litany of self deprecation that tends to go on when I'm doing anything.

On lying on the backs well the wings fold like so:

Or at least that's how I've decided they fold down.  They can lie on their backs, but the wings would have to open out a bit as they don't sit flush (being not actually birds or bats the furl is at completely the wrong angle for the body):

(please excuse the awful morphs, this is my base Avian model so pretty low poly and no corrective morphs as I do that stuff when I'm turning them into characters)

The wings are entire extra limbs from the shoulders onwards so the Fliers have a much more limited range of motion on their arm shoulders than people without wings, and there is also a decent bulge on the back below the neck as a result of the wing shoulder muscles.  They probablyneed extra or very big pillows if they want to lie on their backs XD

For this type of shenanigans Avian on the bottom wouldn't be too much of an issue (if they like being on their back) as the feathers just extend from the arm.  The Dragonkin would have a few more issues as their wing membranes reattach to their waist (which is even more anatomically wrong than shoving wings on a human in the first place but I let aesthetics win here) but as long as pointy joints aren't grinding into wing membranes too much maybe it's okay? XD

As you can see, I don't overthink things one little bit.  Don't believe anyone who tells you otherwise.

I do have a footy playing Dragonkin who injures a wing in the course of the current block XP

WHAT THE!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!! I totally didn't, yet totally *did*, expect this from you hahaha! The first one fit the story I was narrowing on quite well. Just in time too! That sort of HIMYM vibe was what I was going for. The second one caught me off-guard haha! Even though there wasn't anything really shown, I was surprised you would do a sketch of that hahahaha!! I showed it to @randomli, and suffice to say she blushed and couldn't stop laughing hahaha!

I'll figure out a way to include both scenes hahaha! No promises though. Thanks for this, mate! I appreciate it more than words can express haha! Will definitely resteem this soon!

LoL I've been thinking about chairs and clothes a lot too, most of my chairs tend to be just huge (because the Dragonkin average a bit over 2m tall) with gaps in the back for tails (because mine aren't angels, though some of them seem to think they are, had way too much fun with politics and religion in my little head universe XD)

I don't really read romance XD But I can do awesome novel that happens to have smut in it (I mean I actually enjoyed all the GoT books XP).  Thanks!

ahhh yeah but angels have bird wings soooo.... same difference ;D I sem to recall this awesome description of a chair that basically had a back that was broader at the bottom, then tapers smoothly to run along the angels back in the gap between the wings and very slightly broadens at the top again for the sort of middle part of the shoulder area. 
it may have been in one of the sequels tho so I'm describing it again lol. 
I mean, it's definitely categorised as a romance novel. but the whole story is actually really effin cool so for me at least, the romance was kinda a side thing. And I just really enjoy the world she creates. 
Anywho, I hope you enjoy it. :P let me know plz, I'm curious (won't be mad if you hate it, I promise ;D )

I am many things, cute is not one of them XD I only went with nsfw because it's kind of obvious what they're doing, I've done nudes and stuff before where I haven't bothered (and if people pitch a fit well it's not my fault they don't read ;D).  And yeh I donno some people freak out about that kind of thing and I was in a bad mood when I posted so it was easier to avoid potential trouble than me tearing strips off people who might be offended that i didn't use the tag XD

Thanks ^_^ they can supposedly fly with them (I make them fly because ARTISTIC LICENSE), if it was actually real life I'm not sure how well it would work out but how big they're "supposed" to be for how big and heavy a human is even if they have hollow and semi-hollow bones like my Flyers have (I can't remember how I calculated this and it's probably wrong anyway as I'm bad at maths)
