Today I would like to look at Galatians 2 verse 16

 16)Yet we know that a person is put right with God only through faith in Jesus Christ, never by doing what the Law requires. We, too, have believed in Christ Jesus in order to be put right with God through our faith in Christ, and not by doing what the Law requires. For no one is put right with God by doing what the Law requires. 

In this verse it clear that that we cannot be saved by doing what the 10 commandments requires. We can only be acquitted by the grace of God. The law however still shows us how we are supposed to live, it is however not a condition for acquittal, but we know that God  acquitted us by His grace and that he adopted us as His children.
