## How much does the economist cost?

The Economist is arguably the best beginner citizen due to its 3 income stat which allows it to qualify for tax refund status on its own.

The daily payout of an Economist is only 1 SIM from the tax refund but they are the most optimal when comparing the stats of other citizens.

If citizens live between 3-4 years this gives the economist can expect to bring in about 1095-1465 SIM on it's own at the full life cycle. 

With the market ask value of 2890 SIM it doesn't seem like a great deal at first with basically zero chance of ROI but when you consider the value of a daily citizen claim this changes.

I have been talking about the value of Economist for years lol this is the second time I have seen this happen. 

Keep an eye on students in the marketplace. A well-placed bid on Students can go far. I was able to fill a bid on a few young citizens and pick up some students for basically free not long ago. Trading younger citizens for older more valuable citizens at the cost of the 5% marketplace fee. Daily play is mostly marketplace management, but it means nothing if you aren't claiming those citizens to be managed. 

Advice to new players following this guide is build your token holdings over 10k SIM and then start building your city up again with excess to climb leaderboard giving safety from competition/meta change.

I checked the discord citizen claims and didnt see anything from you. Are you a member of the dcity discord where top 400 citizens are claimed? You have to use the command --claim @ your username in the bot commands channel. You will see other people's claims and be able to get an idea if you get confused. Hope that helps!

@sylmarill That claim will require a little more legwork/investment as it is for NFT Combine owners of Luxury Street, Communal Housing and another building that allows Student NFT Claims. Every 8 days players who hold these NFTs can pay to claim these citizens for as low as 400 SIM each.
