<html> <p>Sometimes, it seems...that there's a definite end to autumn, and start to winter...and other times, not so much.</p> <p><br></p> <p>With El Nino winds blowing up from the southwest, the pattern takes a new twist as it screams through the passes in the northern Rockies! These winds are called Chinook winds, and bear tremendous power to change the temperature, over a short span of time. There may be downsides, one that I've experienced is migraine headaches that result from the massive low pressure systems through impacted areas. </p> <p><br></p> <p>Nothing short of miraculous, it's a wind that is translated from First Nations language means, Snow Melter, or Snow Eater. It reduces the low moods that are found during winter months--a condition known as Seasonal Affective Disorder, or "SAD". There are many activities being seen as stimlants for SAD, even exploring the use of light replacement lamps. All the good, all the bad, over gale-force (sometimes hurricane force) winds. Where this blogger lives, a Chinook is a very real, very "aware" part of life!</p> </html>
