The larger society is nothing more than just a superclass of individual families. Whatever happens in the home is what will extrapolate to the outside and will form a major building block for the community at large. You will agree with me that it is what happens in the various homes that is brought outside. This is why, if you are seeking for a better community or a better society, you have to take it to the homes because that is the foundation for the society.

What the kids are exposed to in the early years of their life is what they will live with and it will form a background for them. This is the reason you need to create value in your kids and make them to appreciate value in others, with this, you are already preparing them for a good society and for a better future. When you have inputted goodness in your own family, you have already won part of the society for good. 

The truth is; your kids and other young members of your family will still grow up to have their own families. What you train them with is what they will grow up with and what they will live it. Not just that, it is also the same thing that they will pass on to their kids. So the journey to a better society should, as a matter of necessity, start from you. I remember this very popular quote from Naija:

> The best time to bend and mold clay without breaking it is when it is wet. Once it is dry and you attempt to bend it, you will break it [Paraphrased]

From this quote, you will understand one thing; the future of the older generations of tomorrow lies in the hands of the younger generations of today because they are the ones to become the older generations of tomorrow. So to fashion them to be good and fit to create a better tomorrow and a better society, you have to start early. If everyone will do their own part to raise a valuable family where everyone knows the value of human relationships, then the society will good.

As you are seeking for a better society, also ask yourself if you are a better person for the society. You should meet the qualities you seek for in a society because you are also a member of that society. Just have this in mind that the responsibility to create a better society should be borne by everyone's shoulder including yours.
