One thing I have observed from the blacksmith is that they know when to strike the metal when they are working on it. Usually, it is most ideal to strike it when it is still red-hot because that will be when it will be able to be forged. If the blacksmith delays with the strike, it will not make impact again and he will need to reheat the metal before delivering the strike. In the same way, when you receive an inspiration to do something without taking prompt action, you may develop cold feet and the inspiration will get expired.

It is always said that when an action is delayed or when it is performed outside its ideal moment, it may render the action invalid and it may have the consequence of inaction. This is why the most ideal time to take action on an idea or an inspiration is immediately - when the idea is still fresh and when the zeal is active. Just like many other things expire, inspiration can also expire as time affects it. This is why, each time you delay to act on your ideas, it can render it invalid.

It is worthy to note that the idea that was saleable a few years back, by now, the idea may have gone into obsoletion. Imagine someone still celebrating the analog mode of communication in a world of advanced and complex digital telephony and communication devices. Or maybe imagine if someone's idea is centered on the manual typewriter whereas supercomputers are taking over the entire world now. This is just to let you know that the validity of any idea or inspiration is time-bound.

If you miss an opportunity to cash into an idea, you should know that the idea may not be lying fallow to wait for you. There are many others that are already executing that same ideas because an idea or an inspiration is not an exclusive preserved of you alone. Maybe someone needs to know that when an inspiration comes to you, it is also hitting some other people. What makes a difference is who becomes the first to dive into it and the mode of execution.

If you are waiting for the best or the most perfect time to take actions on your idea, you may live your whole life not taking the action nor making any move towards that regards. You do not wait for the right time, you should create the right time for action and that time is immediately the idea drops inside you. Remember this very widely used quote:

> You strike the iron when it is hottest to get the best result.

Just as time itself, ideas will not wait for you, neither will inspirations too. You are the one that should get yourself ready to brace the idea as it drops. Just to let you know, opportunities come to us more times than we can ever think of. What makes the difference is the actions taken on them. Most times, a saleable idea may not look like it at first but you should take the steps anyway. More so, opportunities do not have to announce themselves as opportunities before you take actions on them. Sometimes they may be masked inside challenges. You should be able to focus your attention beyond the challenges to see the opportunities in them.

In every apple, you will agree with me that there is a juice in it which is sweet. However, the onus is laid on you to press it and squeeze it in order to get the sweet juice. Without taking the efforts to extra the juice, you will not see the juice even though you have the apple. In the same way, there are responsibilities you need to take in order to turn challenges into opportunities. However, you will need an extensive level of maturity to be able to know and take the responsibilities.
