When the night becomes too dark, any amount of life you introduce will make a significant difference. In the same way, in the midst of untold evil, your act of goodness may be all that is required to return the fate of humanity. There is a deposit of goodness in you which you have to give expression to. In this era and as the days go buy, a new level of evil is unleashed into the world and what you need to overcome it is your goodness. As the world gets more cruel, the value and need for goodness becomes increased.

If you join the world in their cruelty, then you are not different from them. Of course, you cannot make a difference if you are not different from them. Your difference in this world that is already full of gross darkness is the light in you. If you repay the person that did you evil with another evil, then you are the same with the person and you are not giving expression to the good in you. Obviously, you cannot expect to win against darkness by fighting it with another darkness. In the same way, you cannot overcome the evil that is in the world with another evil - otherwise you will end up with a greater evil. It takes the power of good to overcome the force of evil.

It is true that everyone will want a world where good things are the order of the day, but that order that you seek should start with your own act of goodness. It is by your goodness that the world will have one more goodness. If everyone would work within their own capacity to do good from within their own environment, the world would be a better place. You will be surprised that the little act of goodness you do to someone might just be what the person needs at that moment to survive through the hurdles that they are going through.

It is worthy to note that it is not the size of the acts of goodness that matters but firstly, the heart from which it comes from, then the willingness, readiness and available of the good act in the time of need. For example, when you see someone that is thirsty, no matter how much motivation you try to give him, it will not quench his thirst, but just a glass of water will be what will matter to him at the point. A bottle of water is definitely cheaper than a bottle of champagne, but a thirsty person will go for the former even though the later is costlier. You see, the value of our acts of goodness is not dependent on the quantity nor the price but the availability.

You do not have to wait until someone does good to you before you reciprocate to the person, your goodness should be shown first. Your acts of goodness makes you a better human and it is what matters in the cruel world. Goodness to one is surely a goodness to all. Being good or kind is not a gift. Of course, no one is born and given the exclusive ability to be good. It is purely a result of choice. The person that is good only made a choice to be good, so you too can also decide to be good. Trust me, there is nothing to gain by being unkind.

There are things that people may overlook but can be what may change someone's day for the better. For example, a nice smile and a kind word may be without price, but the effect is priceless. For someone going through a tough, rough, and challenging day, your kind words and your words of encouragement complemented with a heartfelt smile may be all he needs to overcome the hustles of the day. It is worthy to note that a lot of people are passing through some seriously intense moments, try not to add to it by being unkind to them. Try to make people feel better after they have come in contact with you and not become worse because of you.
