The truth is, what differentiates two people and gives one edge over another is the level of knowledge in the person's disposal and how they apply the knowledge. No wonder it has been said times and again that it is the people with relevant knowledge that rule the world. Major breakthrough is deliverable on the platform of providing solution to the problems of the world.

I read the story of how the initial days of Coca-Cola was met with challenges until one person provided a solution that permanently change the face of Coca-Cola for good. He brought the idea of bottling it and that was how he moved into limelight. You see, he traded his ideas for something tangible and monetary and he left his name on the history pages of Coca-Cola.

The truth is, if the only knowledge you have access to is the knowledge from what they taught you in school, then you are already losing relevance. Trust me, the world is progressing at an astronomical speed that you need to learn wide to be able to keep up with the pace.

At the earlier times of history, they told people that "you need to run slow and steady in order to win the race". Well, that was then. In this era of insane advancement, even the people that are "fast and steady" may not stand a chance because there are many fast and steady people. Now you need to be fast, smart and steady.

Just like time and age affect other things, knowledge is also affected by time and age. The knowledge that you celebrated a fews years back, if you refuse to upgrade it, you will be surprised how far behind you will be left. This is why increasing your knowledge-base is not a choice but a necessity if you want to remain relevant.

Maybe you should know this. Gone are the days where employers will only look at your certificate and offer you an automatic spot. Now, asides your certificate, they will like to know what else you can bring to the table and how relevant you will be to the organization. This is why you need to keep getting yourself improved with the new trend of events so that you will not be edged out.
