Knowledge is not a function of your age, neither is it a function of your social status. And as it were; no one can boast of being the sole repository of all the knowledge in the whole world. But the truth is; you need an extensive amount of knowledge to even recognise that you lack knowledge.

The recognition of your lack of knowledge is the first step towards the acquisition of knowledge. If you know that you don't know something, you are better than someone that isn't even aware of their ignorance. And you would only know what you do not know when you have the knowledge of what you do not know.

But knowledge and ignorance are without recourse to your biological age, but a function of your comparative experiences in life's issues. This is why two popular Naija adages express this fact:

> Your maturity level is not defined by your age, neither is your intelligence defined by your grades in school 

And this

> You know by knowing - Naija adage [paraphrased by me]

This; in my opinion; is absolute truism, and it is our absolute prerogative to go for the knowledge we want, instead of waiting for it to find us anyway. Remember, there is no shame in seeking for knowledge, or even recognizing the fact that you lack knowledge.

But for every knowledge you seek, there is a complementary price to pay. And if you feel you do not want to pay the price of knowledge, then the price of ignorance might force its way into you - and that is far heavier than the price of knowledge.

So guys, get up and go for the knowledge you need, and remember, there is neither an apartheid nor segregation when seeking for knowledge.
