Why some people miss out of learning is because they, sometimes, underestimate other people's abilities. Most times, the person that will teach you something worthwhile may not look like it by mere looking at them.

I remember many years ago when I was in high school, my junior cousin that was many years behind me taught me a particular thing that I may not have known at that time if not for him. This is to prove to you that, years notwithstanding, class notwithstanding, you can learn new things from everyone only, but only if you can be wise enough to look beyond who they are or who they are not.

As long as you live, you cannot quit learning new things. However, some people allow the physical appearance or social status of others to becloud their sense of judgement, which will make them not to see the need to draw any lesson from them.

Illiteracy and ill-literacy (bad literacy) is not always caused by lack of opportunity to find a teacher but lack of willingness to accept them as your teacher. The truth is, you must first accept the inner person of the teacher before you can benefit from his wealth of knowledge.

Remember this, everyone has something unique to teach you - if not by reason of their training, then it will be by reason of their years of experience.

Anytime you approach a crossroad in your life, do not assume that people already know what you need - you need to be the one to ask for it. People may be too busy with bigger things that they may not notice you are in a crossroad, but when you draw their attention to it, you will be surprised how available help can be.
