Replacing Negativity With Positivity

What happens in and around someone, most times, is as a result of their dominant thoughts. When your mind is full of negative energy, how will you expect your life to be positive? Now tell me, can a river have both salty and fresh water at the same time? The changes within you, whether good or bad, if considered closely, has very little to do with the actions of other but majority of what your thoughts and actions have been.

Many bad things that happen are not necessarily caused by external factors but factors within, because that is where the invisible root that produces the fruit is located. There is a popular quote in this part of the world that explains that "the rot that affects the cocoa pod does not come from outside but resides within the pod". You see, the only way to have a positive action is by sowing a positive thought in your mind.

Thinking positively is not a gift, no one is gifted with the ability to think positively - it is purely a conscious choice that you need to make for yourself and stand by it no matter how the situation turns out to be. Each time you are faced with situations that want to challenge your positivity, just remind yourself that you have the choice of positivity.

One thing to guard against is being in the midst of people with negative mindset. Not only will they compromise your reasoning but you will begin to live in negativity with them. You cannot play with dust and expect not to get dirty. In the same way, you cannot hang around people with intense negativity and expect your life to be positive.

You will agree with me that the influence friends have on people is very undeniable. This is why you have to always keep company with the people that you want your character to be tailored after their own. The same way thoughts and mindset are products of choices, friendship is also largely based on choice.

Anyone that does not help your positivity to grow is not supposed to be your friend, there should be no sentiment in this. If they are not having a positive impact on you, then they are already having negative influence on you, so you have to tread with caution. Remember this; your are solely responsible for the outcome of your life, so you should not approach life with negative mindset.
