There are many cases where an apprentice, after they have learnt from the master and have long gone, they will be performing more than their former masters. The reason is simple, they took out time to develop themselves. While their former masters were basking and celebrating old knowledge, they kept going for new and relevant innovation and ideas. The truth is; the world is basically ruled by those that can trade with relevant ideas.

Most of the knowledge available to people have time limit attached to them and after which they will become obsolete. If you do not quickly adjust your knowledgebase to flow with the trend, you may be left out of the revolution. The extensive knowledge you had in the time past about a particular thing may be insignificant to handle the challenges of today. For every level you attain, you have to brace up to face new devils.

Before the advent of industrialization, in farming for example, the whole activities were performed by manual labour from humans or from animals. However, when the idea of mechanization arrived, it led to industrial revolution and it also found application in the farming sector. Now, there are all sorts of farm machines like tractors, harvesters etc.

Imagine if someone is still using the old method of farming with hoes in this era of insane industrial revolution, what will you think their fate will be? Not only will they expend more energy, they will be limited in their production and they may soon be edged out of the competition.

Any opportunity you have to acquire more knowledge is an opportunity to improve on yourself and to step up your game. If you keep doing the same thing in the same way and with the same principle, do not expect to have a result that is different from what you used to have. To have a new result, you have to try out new innovations. Acquire more knowledge relating to your field and others fields too.

Maybe you need to know this; if the entire knowledge you have is only centred on the particular field you studied in school, then your relevance in this dynamic and ever-changing era is very bleak.

As the world is dynamic, so also are knowledge and information. The information that would have made much sense a few years back may not even make it to the front door today, so you should know when to acquire new knowledge so that you will not become obsolete.
