Right from when a child is born and throughout their life, the process of learning keeps going on. This process includes: learning, unlearning, relearning. Learning is the first and fundamental requirement for personal development. Personal Development basically covers growth of a human in all ramifications - mental growth, intellectual growth, interrelationship growth, psychological growth, etc. In view of this, to facilitate this growth process, one must be keen to acquiring new knowledge.

It has been generally believed that learning is an act that is continuous, so also should personal development be a continuous process. This era has become increasingly tasking and demanding that you need to keep updating yourself in order to stay afloat. What you need to keep going in this era that is remarkable for competition is to stand out. To stand out and ultimately become outstanding, you must improve yourself and keep improving yourself.

In your interaction with people, there is something that you can draw up from it in terms of learning. You will agree with me that learning is almost impossible without having interacting with people. Interpersonal relationship is one of the ways of unleashing your inner core value. This is why, it will take the tutelage of an experienced pilot in order to train and raise other pilots. To increase your value and to ultimately develop yourself, you cannot achieve it alone without people.

When you write your college project for example, it will not be complete until you have given some references of the people that have gone ahead of you in that same field, which you used their works to complete yours. In the same way, to learn, you have to associate with the people that are already knowledgeable in the area you seek the knowledge. There is no shy in acknowledging that you lack knowledge and then put in actions to gain the knowledge. After all, there is no price that you pay to acquire knowledge and to develop yourself that will be a waste.

Anyone that does not know something and does not even care to know is already on the path of becoming obsolete. To know, you have to first come to terms with your ignorance, then you can be moved to learn. To solve a problem, the first step is to have a statement of the problem, then you will know what you are up against. In all these things, the place of human interaction can never be overemphasised when acquiring knowledge. Just like the popular quote from the Holy Book states that:

When you constantly come in contact with people that are knowledgeable, you cannot but gain knowledge yourself. The kind of people you associate with will consequently affect how you build your knowledge-base and how you develop yourself. When you walk with ignorant people, it will not be long and you take after them. In the same way, when you walk with people that are wise, it will not be long and their wisdom will be imbibed into you. So in your journey towards personal development, you should always be mindful of who you associate with.
