The Cost Attached to Value
<div class="text-justify">

The value you place on something determines the level of price you are willing to pay for it. Just to be sincerely honest with you, cost in usually attached to anything of value. If you must attain success in life, then you have to place some value on it, so that you can give it all it takes. Every great thing that you want to achieve and every prize you want to win will definitely have a price.

Your preparation towards something is dependent on the level of value that you attach to it. During your degree exams in the university, you were more serious than you were during your primary school entrance exam because there is something bigger at stake and it created the value within you to give it all it takes. Success does not arrive from limbo at the press of a button, there are obvious steps you need to take in order for it to come.

The steps towards your achievements are not always rosy and smooth, they are filled with undulating terrains and hurdles but if you will not give up, then success will be attained. The more you progress towards your success mark, the more seemingly difficult it becomes but you still have to keep pressing on. For you to win, you must remove quitting mentality from you completely. No matter what happens, always remember that quitting is not an option.

The value you attach to your dream will tell the amount of risks you are willing to take. Obviously, success will require you to undertake a level of risk because even life itself is already ladened with risks. As a matter of fact, the more you try to evade risks, the more you open yourself to a greater risk. So it is either you take the risk willingly or you are forced by life itself to take the risk by compulsion. The truth is, the more steps you take towards your dream, the more you realise that you need to take more steps.

The actualization of any dream will obviously begin with a step in the right direction. The step may look little but it is a giant stride towards your dream. Remember the statement of the renowned astronaut (Neil Armstrong) after his groundbreaking feat on the moon. He said and I paraphrase:

> This small step of a man is a giant leap for mankind.

No doubt, that singular step indeed revolutionized space travels and opened up humankind for many other milestone space achievements. Even at this moment, plans are underway to put humans in Mars. Imagine what will become of humankind when they become Martin colonies. All these are results from the "small step of a man".

The step you take today may be the breakthrough that will open you up for more achievements tomorrow. However, to take that step, you need to place value on what you want to achieve, because this is the driving force that you need to take that step. Much more than that, you also need to place value on yourself because you may not be able to achieve more than the limit you have placed on yourself. If you believe that you are well able to achieve a particular thing, then it will place a self-value within you and the zeal to achieve it will be released within you. So as you place value on your goals, also place value on yourself.

Everything is basically judged based on our perceived value. And the cost we place on anything of ours or anything we're willing to buy with our money is based on the value we place on it. Nice post. Thanks for sharing!

@samminator ·
That's right. The value we place on something is the determining factor to the cost we can pay for it.
