Being relevant and staying relevant are two different things and both of them are not gifted but they answer to work. The person that always holds the solution to the problem of the world will remain relevant even in this world full of competition.

A few years back, if you were very knowledgeable in the use of manual typewriter, you would obviously have been celebrated but in this era of computers, if the only thing you still know is typewriter, then you have lost relevance.

Assuming a state of relevance is good but maintaining the relevance is better. You will be surprised how the world is moving so fast that what you considered as "success" yesterday, if not improved upon, will not make it to the front door today. 

Others keep improving to match the ever increasing demands of the world, why not you? I remember when I was a kid, one of the richest men around why I grew up used to drive a VW beetle and he was a celebrity and the envy of many. Imagine after many years and he still drives that car, won't you look at him as a failure? This is just to tell you that successes must be improved upon, otherwise it will lose relevance.

Creating impact begins with identifying a particular problem, then moving to proffer a solution to it. It is in providing solutions that you become relevant. Orville and Wilbur Wright identified the problems associated with transportation, they moved to create aircraft to ease up the problem and that was how they entered the world's hall of fame.

Whatever you do, always look out for problems to solve. Believe me, the world may not like your face, they may not even like your skin colour but if you have the solutions to the problems they face, they will definitely seek for you.
