Hello Steemit family, happy new week, started off today with some airdrop tutorials which I'll be dropping in 4 hours time. 

But now I just want to drop a very beautiful information I found yesterday online from two great people. I've been seeing  so many bitshares tutorials on YouTube but I haven't given them much attention . 

So yesterday  I saw a good steemian  talk about it, I decided to go for some study and I find out so many amazing stuffs that he didn't mention. 

##  WHAT IS BITSHARES?

Most people know bitshares to be one of the  tradeable crytocurrencies that is a good buy, for long term and maybe short term investment. 

Bitshares has a market cap of $138,737,365 (30,268 BTC)  with a circulating supply of  2,600,240,000 BTS. It was launched in 2013 and  offers smart contract. BTS  is not just a coin for trading, BTS is a decentralized exchange platform. 

Bitshares uses a delegated proof of stake system,while bitcoin uses proof of work. In bitcoin we require miners to secure the network and this miners requires lots and lots of energy to do this. Meaning in a way, the miners have more say in the future of Bitcoin, but in delegated proof of stake, one coin equals 1 vote.


Delegated proof of stake gives holders of a coin the right to mine, unlike bitcoin proof of work where there are two communities, users and miners (**note:** this is my simple less technical explanation on this subject).

Most of us know different exchanges such as poloniex, bittrex etc. As we all know the financial world is going decentralized, but most of our decentralized money are traded in centralized exchanges.
