Should you trust those Wattsapp forwards?

Wattsapp is an amazing application that has been connecting friends and family who are far apart with just a few taps on your hand held Android devices. I am now connected to my long lost classmates and cousins which would never have been possible if not for Wattsapp. I am personally in love with this app that has been helping me connect with my husband without actually calling him and disturbing him while he is in a meeting.

Meanwhile, this amazing application comes with its share of drawbacks. There are many scams which are advertised through Wattsapp and many innocent users fall prey to it. You get sudden pop ups that say you can win a branded shoes for free by clicking on the link and when you do they make you take up a small survey and then force you to forward the message to your friends to claim your prize. Pretty stupid because big brands don't need these kind of publicity.

We youngsters who have been working on wattsapp day in and out know these scams, but there are few who rarely use the app and don't know about these scams.

What bothers me more are those disheartening forwards which projects a picture of God saying if you don't forward this msg to 20 people something bad is going to happen with you. Whenever I get such messages I say to myself ' there is nothing worse that can happen more in your life's and I never forward those. Trust me, I have never had Any problem.

There are many other forwards are in rotation for years. Like, someone working in a famous soft drink brand factory has added his HIV infected blood in the latest lot so avoid drinking particular drink etc etc.

If you are bothered with similar Wattsapp forwards and are worried then I suggest you to cross check the authenticity of these through

This is a reliable source and I always depend on it. You can just forward the forward that you have received on wattsapp to them along with your question and they will get back to you as soon as possible with an authentic answer.

Never trust Wattsapp messages blindly and educate your friends and relatives on the same.

Dear mam @samysamy.  we know WhatsApp is a texting service between mobile phones as a replacement for the regular SMS text messages. Over 900 million users are active worldwide using the Whatsapp service. i use this app.. its a great blog..keep going.looking forward to read your next blogs.

Yes sometimes WhatsApp msgs can be irritating also with spams and forwarded good morning msgs, eating up the memory of the phone .  😆

I read somewhere, during the New Year, the biggest traffic on whatsapp was from India, forwarding New Year wish. 
Though I can't confirm that news, as it was in whatsapp also.
