Few people are aware of the devout order The Bloody Envoy's covert mission. These devoted monks spend their formative years at the Hidden Cloister, a monastery that is claimed to be located someplace in Abbots Marsh on Praetoria and is independent of all other institutions. The unlucky progeny of women who were employed as entertainment by vampires at their opulent gatherings, these young youngsters were abducted. The youngsters are taught to live with the dhampir affliction that has stolen their bodies after being adopted into their new family, and they spend their time studying and praying. They are taught that drinking human blood is the gravest sin, and they live off the livestock they raise.

Though violence is never the first option, they receive daily instruction in the art of unarmed combat. Instead, they are taught numerous techniques for hiding from or avoiding attack, frequently employing these techniques to support those around who would cause harm in their place. When they reach adulthood, they frequently hunt vampires and follow them to their homes, where the Bloody Envoy arranges for the evil being's destruction.

The plain and simple robes of these monks are regularly seen upon the road, and people will greet them with open arms, knowing them to be fair and considerate. The monks will often help local communities in their hour of need, whether that be with healing, coin, protection, or holy blessings. But all the time they are vigilant to the foul taint of vampires. Their single, most important mission and the highest order of their vows: to rid the world of this vile disease.
