Another sector being impacted and empowered by decentralization is DePIN, which has been a hot topic on this blog since early 2024. I expect the DePIN sector to experience enormous growth in the coming years. It has so many favorable dynamics, that it’s difficult not to be bullish. Identifying a few key winners will of course be a trump card. However, it’s difficult to know which projects are going to succeed, or even survive.

That’s where diversification enters the picture. The greater your exposure, the better your chances. Another DePIN project similar to [**Grass**](https://app.getgrass.io/register?referralCode=bW1l2uCNP8pT43V) and [**Gradient Network**](https://app.gradient.network/signup?code=RU6RQV) is [**Dawn Network**](https://www.dawninternet.com/). These three projects are all built on Solana and offer a bandwidth-sharing model that incentivizes nodes to remain online. Dawn is building a decentralized mesh network on Solana. This brings down home Internet costs dramatically and unlocks new opportunities for operators.

Decentralized wireless networks are expanding at an alarming rate! [**DePIN is set to become a $3.5 trillion sector by 2028**](https://sapphirecrypto.org/2024/11/25/depin-expected-to-reach-3-5-trillion-by-2028/), the current market cap of the entire Crypto space. Decentralization is the key proponent and driving force of the Machine Economy and multiple projects are attempting to gain their piece of the pie.

However, community support is often a good metric to observe. I am running a Dawn node as it could be one of the better performers.
