## Mitigating Timing Attacks 
Die Marktteilnehmer haben schneller Zugang zu Informationen, als der dreieinhalbtägige gleitende durchschnittliche Umrechnungskurs der Blockchain reagieren kann. Diese Informationen könnten zum Vorteil der Händler auf Kosten der Community genutzt werden. Bei einem plötzlichen Anstieg des Steempreis könnten Händler den Umtausch ihrer SBD zum alten, niedrigeren Preis beantragen und die Steem dann verkaufen, so dass sie den neuen, höheren Preis mit minimalem Risiko erhalten. 

Steem gleicht das Wettbewerbsumfeld aus, indem es verlangt, dass alle Konversionsanträge dreieinhalb Tage lang aufgeschoben werden müssen. Dies bedeutet, dass weder die Händler noch die Blockchain einen Informationsvorteil bezüglich des Preises zum Zeitpunkt der Ausführung der Umwandlung haben.

Die Umwandlung ist Auf @steempeak möglich, indem man in seiner Wallet geht und dort den Reiter neben SBD senden auswählt und "Convert to STEEM" auswählt.
