That is still starting from a tree from a seed, and would still take the same time to grow. The drone attack on deforestation could take another route also, where able the walking or rolling drones could also be used, and plant tree seedling that are at least two years along, but we need to remember that forest are made up of more than just the trees. When they are destroyed by fire there is a lot of small critters, insects, small and large mammals that often get killed off. 

The re-planting of the trees is only one part of the solution, maintaining a healthy balance is important also, should one bug come in and not be controlled by it's natural predators the re-forestation could be for nothing and end up causing more damage. Mono-crop growing has shown the problems of farming, we don't need to create an artificial forest which I think replanting efforts on a mass and rapid scale would do.

In America a lot of the areas that have burned in the last five years have been areas that were part of reforestation efforts of the 60's when heavily forested areas were replanted by various groups. Problem was they only replaced trees, they could not replace most of what was lost. Then once the trees were planted, the management of the forest in those areas was closed to just let them regrow with out keeping an eye on the growth cycle. So they became more densely over grown future fire traps.
