After the huge payout of July 4, there has been a flood of people coming to Steemit. So much so that the Steem team had to temporarily pause new signups on the platform.

With so much people having poured in, and with the promise of reward for your post, the Steemit site has been flooded with an ocean of content. More and more content is posted every second. Due to this, the Steem team had to make another change that will be effective in 5 days. No more than 4 posts allowed per day now!! That will teach you to post spam!! hehe

But the current state of matter is such that, a lot of good content gets buried under so much useless, spam, nonsensical content (I won't name names!).

Anyways, as curators, we are always in search of good content. And it is getting difficult by the day. But, as every cloud has a silver lining, this scenario may have been rewarding all along! As a byproduct of this, we maybe turning into speed readers! I can tell from my experience that, that is true! About roughly a month before joining Steem, I had calculated my reading speed online (via a link I found on facebook). At that time the result was 180 words/minute. But today I took another speed reading test and now it was 230 words/minute!

And immediately I knew why it was. Over the last week I have read so many articles that I haven't read in all the past months combined!! In the search for good content, I have been shifting through so much good AND bad content that it has actually led to a gradual increase in my reading speed! And my typing speed too (As I am typing more and more for my own posts).

At the moment, I am just wondering what will happen when the floodgates are reopened!! Because a WHOLE LOT of people are waiting behind those gates. And HODOR won't be there this time! :(

Brace yourself curators! Brace yourself!
