<p>We all know about and love YouTubers. Some of them are our favourite content creators. Some make us laugh. Some make us think and some are just entertaining to watch. But one thing is certain. A LOT of them are considered celebrities. Ok, not the mainstream hollywood style celebrities but celebrities nonetheless. They have a huge fan base, they get recognised on the streets and are role models for quite a number of people. Most of them have been on YouTube for quite a while now creating content consistently and gradually building a fan base. But it wasn’t always like this. Initially they were just normal people uploading content in the hopes that people will like it. They probably hadn't even thought about becoming YouTube celebrities in their wildest dreams. Then came the subscription model and changed everything! It became the single most important factor in creating “Youtubers” as we know them. Number of subscribers, is literally used to gauge a YouTuber’s success. The more he/she has, the higher in the food chain he is. And currently it’s PewDiePie!</p>

<p>So what’s this to do with Steemit, you might think. Well, everything actually! Steemit is a great hub for content creators too. It is just taking it’s baby steps right now and we already have quite a few people who produce excellent content. Most of the people know the names of a lot of whales by heart by now. But that doesn’t make them celebrities from a strictly “content creation” point of view. No. That title is still reserved. Ready to be unleashed as soon as the Steemit developers let the follow feature loose. Just think about it. Each of us will be able to follow our favourite content creators here on Steemit and it won’t be because they are a whale, but because we like that person’s content. It talks to us, it makes us feel a certain way. There’s an emotional connect! And as more and more people flow in, they will find what they like eventually and add to the content creators’ list of followers. </p>

<p>Fast forward into time when Steemit becomes the giant it is destined to be, we will see that a lot of the early adopters will have become Steem celebrities. They will have hundreds of thousands or even millions of followers that read their content on a regular basis. The author has to keep performing consistently, pumping out quality content to keep up with the expectations of his followers which officially makes anyone a celebrity. Isn’t that what makes a celebrity, a celebrity? In my view point it does! And I think we are headed there. So DON’T grab on to something, cause it’s gonna be a smooth ride!</p>
