The journey of life is a beautiful one, no matter how riddled it is with obstacles and pitfalls. One could say that it is the challenges that make life interesting. Without them, we wouldn't even know the true meaning of happiness.

Though it may sound counter intuitive, it makes perfect sense if you think about it. If we only had days, we wouldn't know the beauty of night and vice versa. Challenges should therefore be looked at as stepping stones rather than roadblocks. 

The human race though, is overwhelmed by the immense number of problems we face daily owing to the growing complexities of our modern day lifestyle. As a result, the way we look at life itself has taken the form of a task. 

Our collective habit of always remaining focused at the endgame or at the exit of the proverbial tunnet is undermining our ability to perceive and enjoy fully, the beautiful phenomena that life is.

# Parallels With A Video Game

If you want to understand what our focus should be, look no further than a simple video game. When we start playing one, we don't actually know anything about it but we slowly learn. At each stage, we face challenges and we overcome them, often after multiple attempts.

This makes us better at playing the video game and we start enjoying it even more. Doesn't it sound very similar to life? When we are born, we don't even know to speak or walk but we learn everything slowly and each day, we solve many challenges and all of that make us more capable and wiser.

But the most important parallel that we can draw between a video game and life is that while playing the video game, the act of playing itself is the most enjoyable part, even though we are constantly focused on beating the game and reaching the end.  When we do reach the end, the fun ends too. 

Similarly, the journey of life is much more enjoyable than any end goal or endgame you might have in mind. Of course, it feels good to have reached there, but looking back, you can't help but feel that the entire journey to the end was the one that really matters. It literally built you into the person you needed to be to handle the achievement of your goals. Even when we die, it's game over and as far as we know, there's nothing next. So, we might as well enjoy the game while it lasts!
