The coronavirus has already changed so much of our habits. Many experts are saying that it might even have permanent changes to our lifestyle and the way we live and work.

It makes sense, doesn't it? We have seen such a horrible pandemic spread in front of our very eyes and we should do everything in our power to prevent or control any such future pandemics.

Technology may help a lot in that regard. Currently, the demand for autonomous delivery bots is expanding exponentially. This shows that people want to enjoy take out meals but don't want to do anything with a human delivery guy who might unknowingly give them the virus.

While that may be a little too extreme, the fear makes sense. So, are autonomous delivery bots going to be the next big thing after the virus is contained for good?

Starship Technologies is a robot delivery service company that says it is seeing an exponential rise in demand for autonomous delivery bots. They are eyeing a great opportunity to make this go mainstream.

If they are able to make it part of the pop culture, they could be a huge company within a few years. Delivery bots are both cool (as they are so futuristic) and they are practical as well.

Delivery bots ensure contactless delivery. They do not get infected unlike humans and are also easy to sanitise. In fact, they can be easily sanitised after each use. Pizza stores have even begun using these robots for delivery.

Autonomous technology has already advanced to a level where this is possible. You just program an address or direction into a robot, and it delivers your product to that address. Currently, they are capable of delivering inside a half-mile radius but this could be improved in the future.
