This is an important and interesting point. Could it happen on POB as well? 

As long as someone acquires a fairly large stake, there's no stopping them besides downvotes and that usually sets up a messy brawl.

A community flourishes based on the quality and efforts of the moderators/curators.

Whenever curation is being talked about, "spending HOURS a day" comes up. Honestly, I don't believe it takes hours to find 10 posts worth voting. People are either lying (more likely) or they are proud of being very, very slow readers (less likely). Come ooooon...............

Clearly, this depends on how much stake you have.

As important as the author is so is the curator. If write up is posted without anyone reading tru to upvote it yeilds nothing. Sometimes it's time consuming to read understand and comment. The pay is fairly shared as we both need each other

50/50 is fair distribution in my opinion. The most important thing is how the platform reaches new users. When there are new users that join and earn, the demand for POB will increase too. POB tokens will be rare in the market. That makes the price soar. Why are all of you worried about 75/25 or 25/75? POB is the rising star of hive tribes, as evidenced by his 50/50 split.
Changing a protocol that has been in place since the beginning will only result in a schism.The worst hostility among the members. That is not good for the next development.

I always liked the 75/25% split that was used on the old blockchain we split from. I belive authors deserve the lions share of the rewards for their content. Curators and content readers should be upvoting because the content they are curating has interested them or brought some sort of value or intrigue to the reader/chain not because curation rewards are high.

As a content creator and "small curator" I care a lot about both sides and I think it is important to take care to keep this flow of growth for the currency and the audience that actually produces good content. I honestly don't mind keeping 50/50, but if we change and it doesn't affect the curators' expectations and results, that's fine, I'm still just a little fish around here hehe.

I think an important point that needs to be addressed, but obvious in the long run is the awareness of the asset

Many people take their rewards and quickly pay for the first available purchase order, without even appreciating the money they have earned.

Every time I go to withdraw some amount (which is not urgent), I try to position the sell order at some value that I consider fair, in the current situation between 0.80 cents and 1 dollar, which gives an increase of 30% to 60% in relation to the purchase order to settle on the spot.

We need to value our token and not sell it at any price. I know that each person has their needs, but we must also think about the long term, and what to do with this token that we won. Unlike Hive and Leo, POB is finite, so each day we will receive less than the day before, with the reward cut every 4 years.

Thus, we must look more in the long term and understand the scenario that we want to build for the future.

And I believe that at the moment a discussion about currency appreciation (not selling at any price), is more important than the% reward for curation and authorship.

I always try to see both sides, but I think there will never be a consensus on what will be ideal in this regard. The best thing to do is always to keep the dialogue open for new ideas and for debate (which, by the way, is happening phenomenally in the POB community).
