How to let go of hate

## Step 1:  With your attention on the ["enemy"] person (thinking about them), repeat to yourself:
> "Just like me, this person is seeking some happiness for his/her life."
 
## Step 2:  With your attention on the person, repeat to yourself:
> "Just like me, this person is trying to avoid suffering in his/her life."
 
## Step 3:  With your attention on the person, repeat to yourself:
> "Just like me, this person has known sadness, loneliness, and despair."
 
## Step 4:  With your attention on the person, repeat to yourself:
> "Just like me, this person is seeking to fill his/her needs."
> Bonus: Guess the specific needs they were seeking to meet.
> Needs list (NVC-style) here: https://www.clearsay.net/basic_human_needs.asp
 
## Step 5:  With your attention on the person, repeat to yourself: 
> "Just like me, this person is learning about life."

I like it. Simple and practical. 

Whilst I have never truly hated anyone, I can sometimes get very angered and frustrated when engaging in online debates.
