Why A.I. Could Be Good to Us
![brainmachine.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmWk7MxwPhuequnv7EyERR8Tex9DMuJFAASp5FZBvS1HnG/brainmachine.jpg)

It's easy to find theories as to how and why A.I. will choose to destroy humanity. It's certainly in enough fiction, too! Let's try on another perspective. I hope/posit that self-aware a.i. will be helpful and "feel" beneficent toward humans. I'm thinking:

- The more intelligent a being is, the more it understands the cost of conflict.

- Humans and machines won't want the same finite resources and the infinite ones like space and energy can be easily shared.

Other ideas? I've heard people say, "We created them so they will see us as something like parents or gods and thus, want to be friendly."

That one I'm only 50/50 on. I do see how it *could* *maybe* *possibly* matter to them.

Eager to hear other ideas!

Thanks for sharing such an interesting topic.
Well the story is a bit deeper than this. And there has been tens of scenarios depicted in movies.
One scenario is that man can be man's enemy. Where will AI stand? which side?
AI's progress is limitless, it would also soon take over all men's jobs.
Have you seen westworld? similar movies? threat can be real, which is why many thinkers such as Elon Musk and Stephen Hawking are very cautious and do perceive things can go wrong.

Very good points and the downside of technology should be considered. Tech usually is a double edged sword depending upon how it is used. Hence, we need to look for the benefits of AI while being fully aware of the downside.

Overall, AI will be a major boost to humanity.

There is a basic question here: Why would AI kills us? What is its motivation?

The answer is none exists. To start, AI isnt human which means while we could probably teach it to think, emotions are most likely out of its realm. Hence, being threatened is not part of its make. Nor is ego. Think of all the reasons man kills and you will see it is all tied to emotion.

On top of that, scarcity, at least at the basic level, will vanish. AI does not need to destroy humans because AI is already abundant. What is is lacking? Why would it need to fill a void that doesnt exist? Again, sans an ego, where is the emotional motivation to feel inferior causing it to lash out.

Finally, AI is not going to be separate from humans. We will all be one. As intelligence grows, so does human knowledge. At present, the device is separate from us but in the future the connection to all the world's knowledge will be in each of us. AI will not be smarter than us since AI is us.

ive written a few posts about ai. but personally i believe that the biotech singularity will happen first. where we can 'jack in' to quote matrix. Ai at present dosnt have the computer power or programming to become self aware, even with the introduction of quantum computers. they are still controlled by binary commands. so when a mind can be uploaded to the web. what type of person were they? greedy, wants to turn into skynet, benevolent and will delete world debt? and this could happen as soon as 2045.
