Wow, what a weekend. Finally winding down and finding some peace and quiet for myself. It made me think of the cycling trip that I took in Korea a few years ago. I have never been at such peace as I was on that trip. An early morning start and then hours of cycling. The early mornings had some of the best weather and views and each one was special in its own way. The picture above was one of my all-time best mornings. It was after some rain from the night before and the freshness of the air and the fog slowly lifting was just pure magic. For me, cycling never got any better than this.

I have to admit it is sometimes difficult to find some quiet time for our souls. Yes, we do get times during the day when things go quiet, but our minds and lives are always busy in other ways that we can't always take in or enjoy the peacefulness. Here is to 2022 having a few more of these moments where we can just switch off and meditate a while. For me, it was normally while cycling but I think perhaps I need to find some other hobbies to get some peace of mind in smaller dosages.

Finding places seeking quiet time is difficult, the scenery above would make anyone  extremely happy.

I have tried snorkeling and while it can be relaxing, it can also be terrifying! Hahaha, depends on where you are though. I think I might miss the big open spaces of South Africa as well. =P

Big open space is one of the very few things you would miss here now, people are struggling financially, also super hot/humid at the moment. 

Wouldn't mind snorkeling again, swim with a few sharks at Rocky Bay down the coast which happened years ago, 

Enjoy that lovely misty cool weather while you have it, South Africa will always be here for a holiday one day 😌.

I have a few hobbies. For example walking and sitting in parks, keeping and living with a bird (I literally sleep with my Harris's hawk), and making (of listening to) amateur radio contacts.

Depending on your personality, maybe some (or all) of these hobbies would give peace to you. And you can even combine these hobbies.

Woah! I had to google Harris's hawk and now I am very happy I did. What an amazing looking bird. Maybe not something for me as I am more of a cat/dog person, but surely a very interesting animal. Must have some fun and interesting stories to tell about it.
