We’ve been cruising non stop since leaving Wales and as we were passing through the very industrial and historic canals of Stoke on Trent on Badger the Narrowboat we passed some lovely old buildings.

Despite the neglect and decay they display so much character and personality that it seems a shame nobody has decided to embrace them as a project for revamping.

It would be very hard indeed to recreate this kind of architectural persona and these buildings as much as possible should be saved and repurposed.

Some of the old pottery works along this stretch of canal have been reworked and preserved and are doing an excellent job of keeping the history alive while at the same time making new business.

I just hope these buildings can also be salvaged and brought back to life.
