Hi guys, how have you been? The Lunar New Year is coming in Vietnam. Since we got caught up in the mess of preparing for this special time of the year, we did not have enough time to keep you guys up date with our journey. Finally today, our sh*t seems to be getting together so let's go back to our adventure.
In half of the year living in Da Lat, we had been to many waterfalls of this city and Lam Dong in general. This highland province just has so much waterfalls that we could not visit all before we left. 
Bao Dai must be our favorite waterfall, but it is not located in Da Lat, the distance is actually pretty far from the city center, about 60km (38miles). I took us 2.5 hours to drive to our destination, the road was good, not too puzzling. You will be able to drive straight most of the time, not too much trucks or dusty like other main road. So the trip was really doable, just a little bit tiring from sitting on a motorbike for such a long time but I do not think it is a big deal.

It was a touristic place before covid came, but since Vietnam shut down the borders and there are too much restrictions just for traveling domestically, Bao Dai waterfall became so desperate. But we liked it a lot because there were just a few local people here for their weekend picnic. They have a gate and bus stop at the entrance but clearly no tourists visiting there so far so the door is just wide open, no guard, and really just look like an abandon place. 
There is an old couple living in an old and small house right next to the entrance. They grew vegetable and chicken in their small garden and made the touristic spot their own house. I was so shocked. The lady was so friendly and she told us to just park our bike in their garden. She said her husband used to be the gate guard, but it has been 2 years from the last time they saw real tourist group came, the government stopped paying them, all the staffs quit their jobs, no one come to check up so far, so they decided to turn this place to their accommodation from now.
I did not know the lady told me that this waterfall have another name long time ago, "Abandon Waterfall" because before it got famous, it is too far from the city so not much people travel here to visit.

You will have to walk for a while from the entrance to get to the waterfall. From afar, we still can hear the sound of the water falling and the birds singing. I could not recall how many steps we had to walk down, but it was not too bad. The road to Bao Dai waterfall is quite easy, made up of large solid rocks. For those who love to explore, the road to the waterfall is really an interesting experience. You will have the opportunity to go through the zigzag paths running along the side, have the opportunity to slip through the mysterious caves or get lost in the strange narrow crevices.
The stone steps, under the abrasion of time and water, have created unique and new paths. Sometimes there are deep holes, you will easily step through thanks to the ancient roots crossing zigzag.Some of you guys might does not know Bao Dai was the last King of Vietnam. In the remaining days, Bao Dai always chooses here for hunting, convalescence and relaxation.
On the way down to the waterfall, you will have the opportunity to see the beauty of the mountains from above. That vast, overwhelming space seems to cleanse your soul, making all worries seem to disappear. Then, when you arrive, witness with your own eyes the scene of each column of white water pouring down from a height, you will hear your heart resound with gentle heroic beats, the overwhelming feeling makes you speechless.

Those who have visited this place say that Bao Dai waterfall is a gift that nature has bestowed on this barren land. Before witnessing the majestic waterfall pouring down white, from afar, you can already hear the majestic sound resounding. The sound of rushing water, the sound of the wind rustling, all blend together to create a magnificent epic of the mountains.
Both dreamy and mysterious is the beauty of this Bao Dai waterfall, making it difficult for anyone who has had the opportunity to admire it. The majestic mountain space makes the beauty of the waterfall more majestic. White water bubbles, the sound of birds brings you a gentle lightheadedness. Every single ray of white water sparkling in the morning sun makes the scene even more magical.
