The following article [article](https://cjasn.asnjournals.org/content/5/4/568) is a prospective study which shows that the levels of dephosphorylated uncarboxylated matrix Gla protein (dp-ucMGP) are associated with the degree of vascular calcification and the stage of chronic kidney disease (CKD). The article further says that the level of dp-ucMGP can be used as a marker for vascular calcification
