As I grow up, I realize the importance of learning to communicate and implement problem solving skills.  Problems tend to seem endless from small things to big things along the road of life.  

It is important to learn to communicate well by expressing yourself and also check for understanding so that no miscommunication occurs.  It is challenging especially when high emotions are involved so a calm environment is crucial so as not to intensify the situation.


Being able to see different points of view and remaining respectful is key to reaching a good solution.  I think it is valuable to teach our kids to try to solve issues when things come up so that they have practice as they grow older.  Perhaps, this will make them more effective problem solvers in the future.
