Yup - that's about says it all.


### How I started....
Not sure who started this post, but back when I joined Steemit in Dec/Jan someone had a why are you a stacker post, and my original answer ended up about being more about how I started, than why I kept going. 

When going through the estate for my grandparents, one of the things I asked for was the old cast iron banks that I played with as a kid. Inside the banks were a few old coins that were interesting. Like most kids, I had those old blue coin books, so I pulled them out of storage and went through the old collection. Interestingly, in the banks were some silver coins, a couple of halves, quarters and dimes... something about that ping and ring of the coins got me interested. After taking them down the LCS to make sure I didn't have a nest egg sitting around, I couldn't get the silver out of my mind. I went back down the LCS and told them I knew nothing, and wanted to start buying silver. He hooked me up that that is how it started. 

## Why I keep stacking.
The more research I did into silver and gold the more it makes sense. Around the same time there were multiple podcasts (TSP, and Radical Personal Finance)  that I listened to that also talked about the common sense of owning at least a small amount of physical silver and gold.  It took a while to convince my wife that all of these packages coming into the house are investment and not just expenses. 

The view I take with my family and coworkers who can't make the connection to precious metals and a store of wealth, I tell them this. 
>Silver and gold is my only investment that is not tied to the value of USD. All my investment portfolios, retirement funds, house, car, etc is all valued in USD. Take a look at Venezuela inflation, ask yourself if they wish they had something that wasn't eroding so quickly. Silver/gold is the original global currency. Empires will rise and fall, but Gold and Silver will still remain.  

I still mostly get dazed looks. Oddly the same looks I get from a few stackers/coin collectors I know when I talk about crypto, but that is another story. 

## My Claim to Fame

I met @thedamus - and lived to tell
That's right, I met @thedamus and [swapped some silver and stories](https://steemit.com/steemsilvergold/@senstless/a-trip-north-and-an-epic-meetup-and-swap-with-a-legend) and made it back home to the family in one piece. It was a blast and I am already trying to scheme my way back for round two. I think it would be great if we made a SSG raid all through town reeking havoc. 

### Stack!!
I mainly like to stack lower premium stuff, like .999+ and 90% going for weight right now. I do have a few pieces of the higher premium mints, vintage rounds/bars, and just started buying some of the artistic stuff from the hand pour artists on there. 

Sorry - no stack picture. Its nice here in the Midwest and I took it out for a nice weekend cruise in the boat.... one big wave and it was gone.....
