Once again we are faced with a game that manages to demonstrate that simplicity is not always bad. **Warp Drive** is a driving title where we take control of spaceships and compete in different challenges (races) throughout the adventure.

There is no story, we simply start and an NPC which seems to be our manager will tell us that we are new to racing and, if we want to learn about this world and show what we are worth, he can teach us.

**As there is no story, there are no secondary objectives, we will simply complete races linearly**, **although what may vary is how we must complete them**, for example: We will have the classic races with several competitors where we will have to be first, although on several occasions it will be enough to be at least in second place to be able to advance. We will also have a kind of time trial where it will not matter the position in which we finish if not the time it takes us to finish and finally sometimes we will face one on one against a particular opponent, the goal here will be, as you can imagine, overcome and reach the finish line first than him.

As for the gameplay, it is the classic one that we can find in many titles of the genre, although the game manages to add certain novelties that manage to stand out, such as the crystals that we will see along the way and will allow us to activate a super turbo or the possibility of becoming flashes of light to move to floating tracks that will be located along the circuit. Somehow, **the game manages to create a very psychedelic/futuristic bizarre atmosphere**.

As we win races we will get a kind of credits that will help us to improve our ship in three different ways; **The turbines**, capable of increasing the turbo speed and handling of the ship. **The engine**, focused on acceleration and maximum speed. And finally **the frame**, which tends to be more global and increases a little of everything, besides changing the color from time to time.

Despite being very simple, Warp Drive managed to surprise me for good, since these "new" mechanics that it introduces along with that curious style that it has, manage to give it personality and allow it to forge its own essence. **So, having clear that it is a game to play for one or two afternoons, I would say it is worth it, highly recommended to have a few races**.

Nuevamente estamos ante un juego el cual logra demostrar que la simpleza no siempre es mala. **Warp Drive** es un título de conducción donde tomaremos el control de naves espaciales y competiremos en distintos desafíos (carreras) a lo largo de la aventura.

No existe una historia, simplemente comenzamos y un NPC el cual parece ser nuestro manager nos dirá que somos novatos en esto de las carreras y, si queremos aprender sobre este mundo y demostrar lo que valemos, él puede enseñarnos.

**Al no existir una historia, tampoco existen objetivos secundarios, simplemente completaremos carreras linealmente**, **aunque lo que puede variar es el como debemos completarlas**, por ejemplo: Tendremos las clásicas carreras con varios competidores donde habrá que quedar primeros, aunque en varias ocasiones bastará con quedar al menos en segundo lugar para poder avanzar. También tendremos una especie de contrarreloj donde no importará la posición en la que acabemos si no el tiempo que nos tardemos en acabar y, finalmente en algunas ocasiones nos enfrentaremos uno a uno contra un rival en concreto, el objetivo aquí será, como pueden imaginar, superarlo y llegar a la meta primero que él.

En cuanto a la jugabilidad, es la clásica que podremos encontrar en muchos títulos del género, aunque el juego se las ingenia para agregar ciertas novedades que logran destacar, como los cristales que veremos a lo largo del camino y nos permitirán activar un super turbo o la posibilidad de convertirnos en destellos de luz para desplazarnos a vías flotantes que estarán ubicadas a lo largo del circuito. De algún modo, **el juego lograr crear un ambiente muy psicodélico/futurístico extraño.**

Conforme ganemos carreras obtendremos una especie de créditos que nos servirá para mejorar nuestra nave en tres formas distintas; **Las turbinas**, capaces de aumentar la velocidad del turbo y el manejo de la nave. **El motor**, enfocado en la aceleración y la velocidad máxima. Y por ultimo **el armazón**, que suele ser mas global y aumenta un poco de todo, además de cambiarnos el color de vez en cuando.

A pesar de ser muy simple, Warp Drive logró sorprenderme para bien, ya que esas “nuevas” mecánicas que introduce junto con ese estilo curioso que tiene, logran darle personalidad y le permiten forjar su propia esencia. Por lo que, **teniendo claro que es un juego para jugar durante una o dos tardes, yo diría que vale la pena, muy recomendado para echarse unas cuantas carreras.**
