Even on the basis of the rules of real life, you should never show how much money you have. when you will not be robbed?-when thief will think that you have nothing to steal.

So it's strange for me that you can view wallets of all users, and see what amount they have. This provokes hackers and greatly simplifies them work on choosing  victims. You can easily make the script for filtering the values of steem power and SBD. I can assume only a few options, why the developers decided to make open wallets.

* Marketing | Psychology.  Any user on the example of the other participants can  see that STEEMIT gives the real opportunity to earn good money. The user can also see the movements of currency and understand what to do with it, following the actions of big players, and to learn from them. For example - investment in the project.
