Auto Re-Steem Feature Disabled! [Critical Update]
After much review we have decided to disable for all users the Auto Re-Steem feature. We have determined it does not add much value to Steemit and when activated by accident leads to drastic unwanted consequences! For this reason we have completely disabled this feature until further notice!

We apologize for any inconveniences this may have or will cause to anyone using our service! We feel this is needed to maintain the level of quality you all have become to expect from us and this feature has proven to since its birth, though a great idea in principle, be a disaster mostly in practice!

We are extremely happy to announce that the feedback and input over the time this feature did exist led us to a way to create enhancements that will begin to roll out in the next weeks and months!

Thank you again to everyone for being part of this project and as always please continue with all the feedback! With  out it we wouldn't know how to make things better!

good news here :)

The auto resteem thing is the reason I decided not to join, because a resteem cannot be undone and could be any random thing I do not support being posted onto my blog as if it were my opinion..  I know it was optional but it made me paranoid that by the time I get it turned off damage is already done, so I abstained. 

Anyway, now that autoresteem is disabled I may join :)

How often does the Shadow Rank update?

I bought 1,882 Steem Power and now my account holds the 11th biggest Steem Power in ShadowBot.

And from what I have seen my Upvote is the 5th biggest upvote from Shadowbot. 

I was hoping my Shadow Rank would go up but it has not. Please take a look at my account.

I have given full control of my account to Shadowbot and I rarely use my upvotes. 

I hope my account deserves a Shadow Rank update.

As we realized many people mistakenly were activating this feature and the results landed up being very intrusive. We as such have disabled this feature until we can give more "fine-tune" control over what exactly is re-steemed! A single number we now realize is not enough to use for determining which posts to re-steem!

May I suggest that neither resteem or follow ought to become automated - it would be better to provide a feed iniside your interface where I can see stream of posts by others using @shadowbot 

* The feed can perhaps include a tag feature to fine tune this feed
* A selection of how much information to provide (1, 2, 5 lines example) 
* whether to have images shown in the summary
* a button unfollow or follow  (unfollow will obviously imply I am already following)
* a button to re--steem from the summary page or to see more detail on steemit or busy.org

This way, the process of supporting by re-steem or to follow will be made easier but not left to an automation. I guess you would also gather more support and use of the site this way because these fucntions are sorely needed I think.

Such a feed would obvioulsy have passed your own filters so I would probably spend more time there than on the main site in the end.

I agree with your decision. I just joined the your service last night and I am still reviewing the system. My natural sense tells me that curation ought in an ideal world, be left entirely to human beings. Of the two ways that I curate, resteeming is the one I would never wish to be left to an automated process as this can tarnish in irreperable ways, my reputation with followers. So, given this is NOT an ideal world, my upvotes, may be traded to gain some exposure while also assisting others in my situation. The $ for exposure bots I find repugnant, and I could never use them. So this solutiuon, I hope, may be a middle road where my votes can further my plan to gain initial traction, and later (if I grow power) I may contribute to the growth of others. For the moment, it seems this bot is a morally sound equaliser of sorts on steemit.  

Concerning auto-follow- I have turned it off for the moment, as I have adopted the practice of very carefully scrutinizing content feeds before I choose to follow so that my feed is kept clean and of a high quality. I also do not wish to upvote inadvertently, anyone who I have assessed to be using indefensible methods to gain exposure or monetary rewards. I noticed that you have a blacklist based off of certain cheat or plagiarism lists. This is a good thing, however, I have my own criteria for making decisions about following and curation - For the moment, I mute followers who I deem to be objectionable or who engage in dishonest practices which downgrade the value of the steemit environment. I would love to explore some of these concepts further. I have already asked around about a filter which may eliminate account which I place on a blacklist of my own, for instance.

Perhaps there is room to build into a customizable list for those in your system, which could allow me to turn the auto-follow back on.
