You ever meet someone who acts like you slapped them just because you didn’t praise them? Like the fact that you didn’t throw a party for their presence is somehow an insult? Yeah, that’s not just a person with a high ego. 

That’s a damn narcissist.

And I’m not talking about the kind that just likes selfies, I mean the real deal, the ones who believe, not think, believe that they are superior. With that belief comes this unspoken contract of everyone must acknowledge their greatness. You didn’t sign it but somehow you’re expected to follow it. When you don’t, it’s not just a surprise to them, it’s an attack.

You think I’m joking? Ask one of them why they’re mad, and you’ll hear a version of this: *“Don’t they see how good I am?”* And they say it not with confusion but with full-on betrayal in their voice, like your silence is a sin.

Criticize them even gently or try to suggest something could’ve been done better and watch the switch flip. That’s no longer a comment to them, it’s pure injustice. Not just “I disagree with you,” but “how dare you say that to someone like me?” 

Bonus points? they won’t forget it either. 

Hahah Nah, to them forgiveness isn’t peace, it’s submission and if you’re not kneeling they’re not forgiving. It took me a while to understand this because I used to think they were just insecure or needed more love. Nope, what they need is worship. They want applause and if you don’t give it you’re automatically on the enemy list. 

That list grows fast too.

But what I’ve learned from leaving with such "psychopatshs is you're not the problem. Your refusal to clap isn’t hate, i’s just reality and reality is something they can’t handle.

You don’t owe anyone your admiration just because they expect it.
