## Saturday band practice

My band is made up of me and two other old dudes so we like to practice early in the morning. We were supposed to start around 10:00 today, but of course everyone likes to run late. The thing is, we play in my basement, so it's not like I get to a practice space outside of my house and wait around for them. Granted, I *did* do that before we practiced in my basement.

In one of my earlier posts, I talked about changing out some regular acoustic drums to have mesh heads on them, with the intention of using drug triggers on them to trigger high-quality drum samples. Now that I've got that worked out, we can have practice that is nearly silent. We do have speakers we can play through if we want, but we can also just play in headphones.

## Burgers from Culver's for dinner

After work, my wife called and said she was going to stop for a burger and wanted to know if I wanted one. This was like a godsend. I hadn't really eaten anything other than a muffin and had played drums all day. I was famished by around 5 pm when she got home and practice was over. She tried to go to Wendy's, but no one was answering in the drive-thru. Restaurants like that are having a *real* hard time finding employees who are willing to do those jobs. 

That's okay, though, because Culver's was right down the road and they always have good customer service. Somehow, they're able to find a bunch of people to work there. It must just be a better environment than a place like Wendy's or McDonald's. Culver's isn't a small local restaurant, but is a smaller regional burger chain. It's significantly better than the aforementioned places.

## Splinterlands update: SPLINTERLANDS IS MOONING!

Every time I check the value of my collection, it's higher. It's getting ridiculous now. The SPT I've been staking forever holds some real value now. It was *almost* worthless for a while. I've got some tokenized packs and the prices on those are going way up. The way it is now, you can't really buy Dice packs form the site until you want to pay $15 for them or whatever 3000 DEC is right now. Naturally, the price for the DICE packs on Hive Engine are going up as well.

I'm still struggling to get to Gold III as @golden-fang. It doesn't help that I flee the battlefield here and there because I can't sit and looking at a loading screen for more than a few seconds without getting distracted. I'm going to have to give up for the night and try again tomorrow. There's still 6 days and change left of the season. 

Rentals are going well. I've got a good percentage of my cards actively rented out. According to PeakMonsters, at the time of right now, I'm bringing in 3,671.881 DEC/day out of 4,200.098 DEC/day listed. That amount of DEC is worth a fair amount right now. I've been buying up some cards that are still affordable. More and more people are entering and I really think a lot of the cards will end up being snatched by people new to the game who want in on the passive income from renting cards out. 

Spend a little time in the Splinterlands Discord channel and you'll get an idea how many new people there all the time. It's a really exciting time to be someone who's been into it for years. Although, honestly, I've gotten most of my current collection all this year. It was worth 3 digits in March and 5 digits in July. I got enough packs to get some really geat cards and I kept 99.999% of them. I sold a couple here and there for whatever reason, but none of the really valuable ones.

Here's a creepy selfie for you! These are mandatory, right? haha. I don't particularly love taking selfies, but maybe it'll help me get over my fear of Zoom calls a little bit. I'm gonna have to do that kind of stuff for school soon and I usually hate it. FaceTime, any of that. Hate it. Doing it over and over again will make it easier, though. That's the way it works.
