This is my sixth #BrawlReport and my fourth brawl in the @hive.pizza PIZZA 2 The Deep Dish guild.

I entered Fray #7 for this brawl, which is a bronze fray, but only allows Untamed edition to be used for battle.

I faced 8 opponents and my record was 5W-3L. I suffered one "You Fled" this time and have finally determined with certainty that if you have a card in your lineup that is a rental and that card is recalled or the rental ends before the brawl battle is fought by your opponent, you will automatically lose with a "you fled" message.

I placed third in our guild with 5 total wins. Congratulations to @irregular-n for taking the top spot in this brawl with 7 wins!

Our guild finished tied for 4th place this time, with a total of 41 wins. That's an improvement of three places and 10 more wins than our last brawl! Great job PIZZA team!

## <center>Battle 1 - Win</center>

Opponent Fled.

## <center>Battle 2 - Win</center>
**Heavy Hitters:** All Monsters have the Knock Out ability.
**Even Stevens:** Only monsters with even mana costs may be used in battles.

I had some quite powerful summoners rented for this brawl as a part of the season ending and for this battle I placed 0000 with +1 range power, +1 health, and the blast ability. The blast ability is quite effective at spreading damage to surrounding monsters and made quick work of eliminating my opponents.

## <center>Battle 3 - Win </center>
**Silenced Summoners:** Summoners do not give any stat buffs or debuffs or grant/use any abilities.
**Equalizer:** The initial health of all monsters is equal to that of the monster on either team with the highest base health.

This battle eliminates the benefits of summoners and are always a challenge for me since my deck is not particularly strong with non-summoners. I decided to setup a blend of melee, magic, and range attack that would go after my opponent in a variety of ways.

Once again, having a monster with blast ability tucked in my lineup proved very useful in picking away at the health of the second monster in my opponent's lineup.

## <center>Battle 4 - Loss</center>

**Silenced Summoners:** Summoners do not give any stat buffs or debuffs or grant/use any abilities.
**Equalizer:** The initial health of all monsters is equal to that of the monster on either team with the highest base health.

This battle had the same restrictions as the last one but limited to the fire and earth splinters. I decided to go with earth this time and rely mostly on high range power which will inflict a total of 8 damage per turn.

Unfortunately, I never got a chance to unleash all that range power as my opponent placed a tank which mitigates range hits and made quick work of taking out my own tank and then my range monsters.

## <center>Battle 5 - Loss</center>
**Reverse Speed:** Monsters with the lowest speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks.
**Rise of the Commons:** Only common and rare monsters may be used in battles.

Apparently, both my opponent and I thought the other would be mounting magic attacks as we both used a summoner with -1 magic power. However, my own setup was heavy on the range power with one snipe. I was quite limited in this battle with my selection because only common and rare monsters could be used and most of the cards I rent to boost my deck are legendary. My lack of good cards for these common and rare battles really tanked me on this one.

## <center>Battle 6 - Loss</center>
"You Fled"

This loss has determined conclusively that if you put a monster in your battle lineup that is rented and that monster is subsequently re-called by the owner or the rental ends, then you will be given an automatic "you fled" loss if your opponent enters their team AFTER your rental expires.

Keep this in mind as you set your Brawl lineups!

## <center>Battle 7 - Win</center>
**Equalizer:** The initial health of all monsters is equal to that of the monster on either team with the highest base health.
**Explosive Weaponry:** All monsters have the blast ability.

Because of the Explosive Weaponry giving every monster the blast ability, I wanted to install a second monster that could withstand these attacks. I selected Living Lava for its Shield ability that reduces damage from melee and range attacks by one. Since the blast ability will be sending one damage in that direction, this monster will effectively neutralize any blast effect from my opponent when targeting my tank.

This strategy proved effective as all of the hits my opponent made against my tank resulted in zero damage to my second monster. Whereas, my opponent didn't have that protection.

## <center>Battle 8 - Win</center>

**Target Practice:** All ranged and magic attack monsters have the snipe ability.
**Spreading Fury:** All monsters have the Enrage ability.

I finally got to bust out my Llama/Kron combo that I paid too much to rent, especially since I only get to use it in this one battle. I would usually place Kron in the last position to take advantage of the Last Stand ability, because I expected with a 28 Mana battle that my opponent would have used at least one Sneak monster that would have pounded away at that last monster. I guess I expected them to use magic attacks and I was wrong.

In the end, it didn't matter and Kron was enough to take out my opponent.

## <center>Final Thoughts</center>

Yesterday was [Hive Power Up Day](https://ecency.com/hive-167922/@traciyork/announcement-post-hive-power-up-day-october-1st-2021) and I decided to also [power up my SPT Power](https://www.splintertalk.io/@shauner/hive-power-up-day-spt) on Splintertalk.io and increase my delegation to @monster-curator. I highly recommend doing both to increase your SPT rewards!

This was a pretty good showing considering I was in a bronze level Untamed fray. I didn't really come across any higher level monsters in my battles despite them being allowed in this fray. That is likely the only reason I was able to win 5 battles.

We each received 269 merits for this brawl and 7 crown rewards for tying for 4th place!

Looking ahead to the next brawl, I am in another Untamed-only fray, but dropping back down to all level 1 card limits so hopefully I will manage another good showing in these Untamed battles with my current rental strategy.
