Weekly Challenge! Share Your Battle Featuring: Molten Ash Golem

Hi everybody, 

My name is @shawnnft and I'm here to share my challenge blog post for the [Share Your Battle Challenge](https://peakd.com/hive-13323/@splinterlands/share-your-battle-weekly-challenge-moltenashgolem). The theme featured this week is ***Molten Ash Golem***. It's a 6 mana ranged card that has close range so it is able to attack in the front position. In my opinion, this card is very situational and not really a meta card, it can sometimes be good in keep your distance battles when you need a non melee monster to tank and you are limited on the choices you have.

<center> <h1> **The Battle & Discussing My Lineup** </h1> </center>


I played this battle on my alt account, shawn22. The battle link can be found [here](https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sl_d6b8bec2d0112f653444802e0317b0c3&ref=shawn22). This battle is in silver modern league. The ruleset for this battle was keep your distance and fog of war with a 27 mana cap. I was considering playing dragon but in the end I chose Jacek because of the fog of war. The scattershot would let me hit the backline incase the opponent put big tanks infront.

**First Position**, ***Scavo Alchemist*** - I chose Scavo Alchemist to be the meat shield and it's main purpose was to just take a few hits.

**Second Position**, ***Molten Ash Golem*** - I chose Molten Ash Golem for this position to be a decent tank that can also do some dps with its 10 health and 2 range damage.

***Third Position**, ***Djinn Apprentice*** - I chose Djinn Apprentice for the third position to be dps and to do damage without having armor negate one damage even though I had piercing.

**Fourth Position**, ***Lava Spider*** - I chose Lava Spider as another source of DPS to hit the enemy backline.

**Fifth Position**, ***Blood Maker*** - I chose Blood Maker to be in the last spot because it had a higher damage than lava spider so while lava spider was soaking some damage this would be my finisher for the battle.

<center><h1> Did My Strategy Work? & Would I try differently next time? </h1>
 </center>

**Yes, my strategy worked**. The opponent had 2 huge tanks Baakjira and Djinn Oshannus but with scattershot from Jacek I was able to kill their healer and their range dps. To be honest, playing Jacek is a bit luck sometimes but I feel this was the right play. If I had to try something differently next time, maybe I would rent a yodin and give that a shot because yodin would be less reliant on luck.

To answer this, no I do not like **Molten Ash Golem**. I don't really think the card is that good. It's really niche and there's many other cards worth owning over this one that will have more use cases.
