Hi lovely friends

So yesterday I posted a photo of a diffuser bracelet I made recently.  I've been wearing it everywhere for a couple of days and so many people are commenting on it.

If you are wondering what a diffuser bracelet is, its one that contains porous beads that you can add a drop of essential oil to and the fragrance lasts for a good couple of days.

I'm mad about essential oils - even to the point I've embarked on a Diploma of Aromatherapy, so adding them to jewellery was a way I could combine a few things I love.  Oils, making jewellery and crystals/gemstones.

To be honest when I made this bracelet stack I really wasn't focussed on the particular stones in terms of their esoteric value.  I was pretty much going by colour!

So let's break it down.

### The Stones ###

The white beads with black veins through them - which is the main stone in this stack is called __White Howlite__

This is a stone you can use to change your life for good - and hey - who doesn't want that!

Howlite helps you achieve peace and calm while it keeps you attuned to your pure and infinite energies.  It is a stone of awareness.  It gives you wisdom and enlightenment, helps you connect to the higher realms and great for keeping focussed and serene during meditation.  It also helps relieve you of stress and anxiety.

Turns out I picked this stone randomly and it was actually one I could really do with to give me emotional support at the moment - crystals are funny that way - I find you are often drawn to them (or they to you) when you need them most - and I've frequently lost stones - only to realise I actually no longer needed them.

The other white bead is __Mountain Jade__ - this is actually dyed dolomite marble and its all about creating balance - again..perfect for me! It is also said to help access unused portions of the brain...I think I'm going to need a lot of it!


Finally I also used __Jet__. This is a stone of protection.  Not sure if I need protection.... It also gives physical, spiritual and emotional guidance that helps achieve balance and harmony - so goes well with the mountain jade.

The porous black stones are __Lava Beads__ and they were purely for diffusing the oil with.  Lava stone is, however a grounding stone and helps people to "bounce back".  Again pretty useful in my current circumstances.

### The Oils ###

The oil I used was a blend called Whisper, which is a specific blend doTERRA do for women.  Its musky, warm spicy and sweet all at once, with Jasmine, Rose, Ylang Ylang, Cinnamon, Sandalwood, Vanilla, Bergamot and Patchouli.

Its both calming and uplifting at the same time.  I just have to remember I look a bit silly standing in the street sniffing my bracelet! But seriously I could smell that oil all day!

### Do they Work? ###

Well I've been wearing them for the last couple of days, and I've certainly felt calm and I've managed to get through a fair chunk of work - that required my creative juices.  I believe they help and for anyone who says that's just a placebo effect, I say so what?  If it works it works.. doesn't matter how.  Whether its because there is truth in their properties or just because I believe it or not, a positive outcome is all that matters.

I can go into the science and research behind the properties of essential oils (many modern medicines actually originally come from these bases - until they decided to "chemicalise" them)and I can go into the energy and vibrations in stones (think about quartz watches - which work because of the vibration of the quartz) but maybe another day.. my Anatomy and Physiology textbook is calling :(
