Have you ever wondered what EOS stands for? If you are in the world of crypto, blockchain and decentralization, you’ve seen this captivating brand stand out among them all. We have discovered the true meaning behind EOS.

Like everything great on the Internet, there's been plenty of mystery and speculation behind its meaning. 

According to the Block.one team, the makers of EOS.IO:

“We believe that EOS means different things to different people. We have received numerous amazing interpretations of what EOS stands for or what it should stand for so we have decided not to formally define it ourselves.”

EOS is actually Eos, the Greek Goddess of the Dawn. <em>(See <a href="https://everipedia.org/wiki/eos/">Everipedia</a>)</em>. A new day, a new beginning.  Get it?

Yes, that would mean EOS is female.

EOS Dawn was named intentionally.  What's more, the EOS logo is called a chestahedron, which is the sacred geometric form that underlies the structure of the human heart. The shape that fits inside of this figure is called a decatria. When the decatria is at the core of the chestahedron, it forms the logo for <a href="http://sheos.org">shEOS</a>.
