Whenever we have a health problem, one of the first things we think about is which medication can help us improve it. In the modern world, we have many medications. For practically every situation, we have something we can take that will help us improve. But, does everything that happens need to be treated? It's like the saying that prevention is better than cure, so not everything needs to be solved with medication. Perhaps changing our habits and routine is enough to change everything, to prevent us from needing medication.

I'm not the healthiest guy in the world. I really need to make a serious change to my routine. I'm not much of a fan of healthy foods or habits, but sometimes I try to change that a bit, and it's helped me once. I remember a few years ago, I started having a lot of anxiety attacks, the kind where you vomit for no reason. I remember my body shaking, it was all very strange, and I wasn't coping very well. I even went to the doctor once, and he said it was really anxiety attacks.

He prescribed a few more tests, some medication, and, of course, some lifestyle changes. I never really went back, much less started medication. I didn't want to get into that, but I also needed to improve these attacks. So, at the time, I remember researching online what I could change to improve, and that was it. And, well, there it was, what even the doctor had said: lifestyle changes. Going to bed earlier, resting, eating healthier, meditating—I tried a little bit of everything and really changed some things, at least for a while.

I started avoiding heavy, fatty foods, especially at night, so I went much easier on my diet during this period. Going to bed early has always been a problem for me, but around that time, I really made an effort to go to bed earlier, to sleep more, and it helped me a lot. I started reading a little more about things, about life. I think it was around that time that I began to understand that not everything was my fault, that there are many things beyond our control that harm us, and we live thinking it's our fault, but it's not.

I started to open up more to my mother (at that time, I wasn't married or anything). Letting it out with someone you can trust is something that really relieves the pressure on our minds, and there's nothing better than our mother for that. So, it was a time when I significantly changed my mindset and spirituality about life, because I thought everything was my fault, that if I didn't achieve something, I was pathetic, a failure, and that was overthinking me. But by changing everything, I realized, physically and mentally, that it was possible to get better without medication.

These days, I've relaxed a bit again, especially with my diet, but it's something I need to improve. Honestly, I don't know if I'll be able to. Thankfully, I've never had severe anxiety attacks like I did back then, although I do occasionally experience mild ones. With that in mind, I can say that the change has to be both physical and mental. We need to shift our mindset a bit to avoid suffering so much, to avoid blaming ourselves so much. Sometimes, the best medicine comes from within.

Sempre que estamos com algum problema de saúde, uma das primeiras coisas que pensamos é qual medicação pode nos ajudar a melhorar deste problema, então no mundo moderno temos muitos remédios, praticamente para cada situação temos algo que podemos tomar que irá nos ajudar a melhorar, mas, será que tudo o que acontece, é preciso remediar? É como o ditado que diz que é melhor prevenir do que remediar, então nem tudo precisa ser resolvido na base do remédio, talvez a mudança de hábitos e rotina já seja suficiente para mudar tudo isso, para evitar que precisemos de remédios.

Eu não sou o cara mais saudável do mundo, realmente preciso mudar a minha rotina para valer, não sou muito de comidas ou hábitos saudáveis, mas em certos momentos, tento mudar um pouco essa realidade e isso já me ajudou uma vez. Lembro que há alguns anos comecei a ter muitas crises de ansiedade, daquelas que você chega a vomitar sem motivo nenhum, lembro que me dava uma tremedeira no corpo, era tudo bem estranho e bem, não estava sabendo me lidar muito bem. Cheguei a ir ao médico uma vez, o que ele falou era que o que estava acontecendo eram realmente as crises de ansiedade.

O que ele receitou foi fazer mais alguns exames, alguns remédios e, claro, mudança de alguns hábitos. Eu realmente nunca mais voltei lá e muito menos comecei com os remédios. Eu não quis entrar nisso, mas também precisava melhorar essas crises. Dessa forma, na época, lembro que pesquisei na internet o que poderia mudar para melhorar e isso e bem, lá estava o que até mesmo o médico havia falado: mudança de hábitos. Dormir mais cedo, descansar, alimentação mais saudável, meditação, vi de tudo um pouco e realmente mudei algumas coisas, pelo menos por um bom tempo.

Comecei a evitar mais comidas pesadas, gordurentas, principalmente à noite, então peguei bem mais leve com a comida neste período. Dormir cedo sempre foi um problema para mim, mas nessa época eu realmente me esforcei em deitar mais cedo, dormir mais e isso me ajudou bastante. Comecei a ler um pouco mais sobre as coisas, a vida, acho que foi até nessa época que comecei a entender que nem tudo era erro meu, que tem muita coisa fora do nosso alcance que nos faz mal e a gente vive achando que a culpa é nossa, mas não é.

Passei a me abrir mais com a minha mãe (nessa época ainda não era casado nem nada). Botá-la para fora com alguém em quem você pode confiar é algo que alivia demais a pressão em nossa mente e nada melhor do que a nossa mãe para isso. Então, foi uma época em que mudei muito a minha mentalidade e espiritualidade em relação à vida, pois achava que tudo era culpa minha, que se eu não conseguia alguma coisa, eu era patético, era um fracasso e isso tava pensando demais na minha cabeça, mas, mudando tudo, físico e mentalmente percebi que era possível melhorar sem medicações.

Hoje em dia, eu já dei uma relaxada de novo, principalmente com a alimentação, mas é algo que preciso melhorar, claro que sendo bem honesto, não sei se vou conseguir. Graças a Deus, nunca mais tive crises pesadas de ansiedade igual naquela época, apesar de que, de forma bem aleatória, algumas crises leves acontecem. Com isso, posso dizer que a mudança tem que ser tanto física quanto na mente, é preciso mudar um pouco a nossa mentalidade para não sofrer tanto, não se culpar tanto e assim, a melhor medicação às vezes vem de nós mesmos.
