It's funny how the taxes that are charged so much, often with absurd amounts on top of the real values, could bring good to an entire population, if they were applied correctly. As everyone knows, one of the greatest evils that exists ingrained in our society is precisely corruption.

First of all, taxes and corruption have a stronger connection than we can imagine (I didn't mix the subjects wrongly), because in my view and I believe that many people, we live paying taxes and public bills on a daily basis, but in an incredible way, this expected tax return never actually happens, so that question always comes up: where does all that tax money go?

Corruption, someone pockets it, someone takes it away and usually the person who does this is not a needy person who drove it out of pressure or despair, no, it's people in suits and ties, people who already have a well-filled bank account and who don't do justice to their position public, which should somehow be to bring improvements to your city, state or country.

It may seem like just another complaint, like thousands of others, but today in particular, walking down a street I always take on my way to work, I noticed countless potholes and a glaring lack of signage. So, I immediately thought, where is the tax money we pay so much? Shouldn't they be applied here, for a maintenance? And why does it take so long for something to happen?

Complicated, with these taxes and corruption and the people always left behind, always injured in all of this. It may be that in other countries it is different, but here in Brazil it is complicated, we pay to be born, live and die. It's like a bad joke that every Brazilian has to hear and still laugh and smile as if it were really fun, but it's not. Politicians, please apply our tax in a serious and committed way, the population thanks you!

Engraçado como os impostos que tanto são cobrados, muitas vezes com valores absurdos em cima dos valores reais, poderiam trazer um bem para toda uma população, caso fossem aplicados corretamente. Como todos sabem, um dos maiores males que existem entranhados em nossa sociedade é justamente a corrupção.

Antes de mais nada, impostos e corrupção tem uma ligação mais forte do que podemos imaginar (não misturei os assuntos erroneamente), pois no meu ver e acredito que de muitas pessoas, vivemos pagando impostos e contas públicas diariamente, mas de um jeito incrível, esse retorno esperado pelos impostos nunca acontece efetivamente, então, sempre vem aquela pergunta: para onde vai todo esse dinheiro de imposto?

Corrupção, alguém embolsa, alguém leva e geralmente quem faz isso não é uma pessoa necessitada que conduziu por pressão ou desespero, não, são pessoas de terno e gravata, pessoas que já tem uma conta bancaria bem recheada e que não faz jus ao seu cargo publico, que deveria de alguma forma ser o de trazer melhorias para a sua cidade, estado ou país.

Pode parecer só mais uma reclamação, como milhares de outras, mas, hoje em especial, passando por uma rua que sempre passo para ir para o trabalho, percebi inúmeros buracos e uma falta de sinalização gritante. Então, logo pensei, onde está o dinheiro dos impostos que tanto pagamos? Eles não deveriam ser aplicados aqui, para uma manutenção? E por que demora tanto para acontecer algo?

Complicado, com estes impostos e a corrupção e o povo sempre deixado para trás, sempre lesado em tudo isso. Pode ser que em outros países seja diferente, mas, aqui no Brasil é complicado, pagamos para nascer, viver e morrer. É como uma piada de mal gosto que todo brasileiro tem que escutar e ainda rir e sorrir como se fosse realmente divertido, mas não é. Políticos, por favor, apliquem o nosso imposto de forma seria e compromissada, a população agradece!

Sorry for the delay in getting to your post! Had some challenges recently but trying to catch up :D

Taxes are a real pain in the ass, and they are just a way to manipulate and extract the most out of the common person while at the same time giving those with some power and knowledge the ability to evade them.

If they were truly caring about taxes and raising money to fund things, they would do a flat tax across the board. Everyone would pay 5% tax no matter what. That doesn't work though, because there are many who purposefully evade and don't pay them so taxation is theft.

A grande parcela da população brasileira não faz ideia o que é pagar imposto. O cidadão paga imposto sobre a renda, o consumo e o patrimônio. A maioria das pessoas que são pobres (recebem 1 salário minino ou informais) pagam somente o imposto sobre consumo e esses nem sabem que eles existem. Agora o cidadão de classe média tem um noção forte do imposto que paga (renda, consumo e patrimônio) e principalmente aqueles que pagam sabem o que uma DARF!

É imposto que não acaba mais, infelizmente a gente vai pagando pagando e nunca nem vê o retorno disso, é complicado viver no Brasil por isso, um país sem muitos desastres naturais graves, grande e com um povo trabalhador, tínhamos tudo para ser país de primeiro mundo, mas infelizmente a corrupção leva tudo isso pro buraco.

What a good question, to know where the tax money goes haha. This is also the case here, although it is more noticeable in the neighborhoods where we live far from the city center. They don't even invest in lighting for the streets, much less in paving the streets. Unfortunately we are used to that.

It's complicated like that, isn't it? We want to live well, we pay our taxes and we don't have the return that is a citizen's right. It would be necessary to create more transparency mechanisms so that we know where every % of tax we pay is going, as well as strong supervision to keep an eye out in case someone misuses or embezzles that money.
